Harris Teeter Trip 3/13/12

After a weekend stuck in the house, I finally got to Harris Teeter to do my weekly grocery shopping. Tuesday is the last day in the HT sale week, and today's trip made it clear that by the last day of the sale week, don't count on big sale items to be in stock (not a jar of PB to be found).

I began my trip with a $20 pharmacy credit and a massive stack of coupons in hand. Though I wasn't able to take advantage of every deal I'd hoped for, I was still able to bring home $89 worth of groceries for less than $14, an 85% savings. Awesome.

At check out, a strange thing happened, though. After my store card was scanned, I received a $5 deduction from Enfamil and a $2 deduction from Kraft. I definitely didn't buy any formula, and as far as I'm aware, I didn't buy any Kraft promo items...so it's very likely that my bill should have been $7 more than I was charged, but the cashier had no answers for me and sent me on my way. Guess today was just my day.

HT's produce prices seemed really high, so I'll be making a trip to Aldi later in the week to round out my shopping.

For $13.87 (plus tax), I purchased:

1 Kashi Go Lean Crisp - $1.97 - $2.00 coupon = FREE
2 dozen Land o Lakes Eggs - $1.74 each - $0.75 coupon x 2 (doubled) = $0.24 each
2 Raisin Bran Cinnamon Almond - $2.14 each - $0.70 coupon x 2  - $1.00/2 e-vic coupon = $0.24 each
1 HT Tomato Sauce - $0.57
1 Barilla Whole Grain Penne - $1.49
Bananas - $0.81
Broccoli - $2.00
1 Rotisserie Chicken - $6.99 (yikes!)
1 Bag Perdue Chicken Breasts - $4.99 (regularly $8.99, had $4 coupon attached)
1 lb ground beef - $3.69
1 Digiorno Frozen Pizza - $5.50
1 Pepperidge Farm Bread - $2.14
1 Yoplait Smoothie - $3.00 - $0.75 coupon x 2 - $0.75 e-vic coupon = $0.75

1 32 oz International Delight Creamer - $3.00
